Falling as a star burns out in the black of night....
Whispering a name familiar yet unplaceable.
How to end the lonesome dark that overtakes
All creatures before transforming them
Into hideous beasts of nightmares?
This she tries to discover as she herself
Is taken up and brought skyward.
The stars are no longer twinkling lights
Burning to guide the lone sailor home.
Instead cold spheres of burning flame
Glare at all who cross their path
And dare interrupt their nightly journey
Across the blank sky they decorate.
Chills not banished by glowing fire.
They are encouraged by reckless emotion
That threatens all who make the journey
Across the stars to try and grow.
If successfully passed, she will be stronger.
If she fails, she will become one.
A corrupted flaming thing of ice.
We all face this journey daily.
What will we turn out to be?
